Best Practices for Creating a Listing Page on POP.STORE

A listing page is only as good as the information you put into it. Follow these best practices to make sure your page gets found, makes a strong first impression, and converts visitors into serious buyers.

  1. Use a Detailed Listing Name - When naming your listing, be as specific as possible. Instead of a generic name like "West Village Condo" or "Beach House," use the full property address or a descriptive title that includes key details, just like you would see on Zillow or Realtor.com. For example, "450 Ocean Avenue, Santa Monica, CA 90401 - 3 Bed 2 Bath" tells a buyer exactly what they are looking at and where it is.

This matters beyond just clarity. Our team works to optimize your listing page for search, but that only goes so far if the listing name itself is too vague. Your listing name becomes part of your page URL, so a name like "West Village Condo" produces a URL that will never surface in a search. A name like "450-ocean-avenue-santa-monica" has a real chance of showing up when buyers are actively searching for properties in that area. The more specific and accurate your listing name, the better your chances of getting found organically.

  2. Add a Strong Hero Image - Your hero image is the first thing buyers see when they land on your listing page, and it sets the tone for everything that follows. Use a high quality, well-lit photo that immediately communicates the best feature of your property, whether that is the facade, the living room, a stunning kitchen, or a breathtaking view. Avoid dark, blurry, or cluttered photos. If a buyer is not impressed in the first second, they will leave. Recommended size is 1200 x 500px, and you can crop and resize your image directly within the editor to get it looking exactly right.

  3. Write a Compelling Property Description - You have up to 5000 characters for your property description, and it is worth using them well. Go beyond the basic specs and tell the story of the property. What makes it unique? What is the neighborhood like? What kind of lifestyle does it offer? Is it walking distance to great restaurants? Does it back up to a park? Is the kitchen newly renovated? Buyers are not just looking for square footage, they are looking for a home that fits their life. A well-written description builds excitement and gives buyers a reason to reach out before they even speak to you.

  4. Load Up the AI Concierge with Private Notes - The more information you give the AI Concierge, the better it performs. When buyers land on your listing page, the Concierge will proactively engage them and answer any question they have about the property or the neighborhood. The private notes field is where you make it smart.

Include things like recent renovations, HOA details, the roof or HVAC situation, nearby schools and their ratings, local amenities like grocery stores and parks, parking details, and anything else a buyer is likely to ask. These notes are never visible to visitors - only the AI uses them to give accurate, helpful answers in real time.

If you want even more control, you can enable Restrict ECHO-ME's Answers. This ensures the Concierge only responds using information from your listing and private notes, without referencing outside sources. It's a great option when you want to carefully manage exactly what buyers are told about the property.

Think of it as briefing your best assistant before an open house. The more they know going in, the better they represent you and the property.

  5. Fill In All Property Details - Fill in every field available - beds, baths, square footage, year built, and property type. Buyers filter by these details when searching for properties and leaving any of them blank makes your listing feel incomplete and unprofessional. Once you enter the square footage, the price per square foot is calculated and displayed automatically, which is a detail serious buyers always look for and appreciate seeing upfront.

  6. Show the Full Picture with Photos and Videos - Buyers want to see everything before they commit to reaching out or booking a showing. The more visual content you add, the more confident a buyer feels about the property.
    • Gallery Images - Upload photos of every room, the exterior from multiple angles, outdoor spaces, garage, storage, and any standout features like a pool, a view, or a renovated kitchen. The more comprehensive your gallery, the more a buyer feels like they have already walked through the home before they contact you.

    • Property Videos - Take it a step further by adding a video walkthrough directly to your listing page. You can attach an existing video series from your Pop.Store or create a new one. A well-produced walkthrough gives buyers a real feel for the flow and scale of the property in a way photos simply cannot. It also keeps buyers on your page longer, which builds more confidence and makes them more likely to reach out.

  7. Set Up Your Calendar Booking - Every listing page has a built-in calendar booking widget that lets buyers reserve a private showing directly from the page. Make sure you have this set up and that your availability is accurate for each listing. We recommend creating a dedicated calendar slot specifically for private tours for that listing so your showings stay organized and do not conflict with your other appointments. The easier you make it for a buyer to book, the more showings you will get. To know the steps, read: How to Set Up Calendar Booking

  8. Attach a Resource Library - Give buyers everything they need to make a confident decision without having to look elsewhere. Attach relevant resources directly to your listing page, such as a neighborhood guide, a buyer checklist, a school district overview, or a mortgage calculator guide. When buyers have all the information they need in one place, they spend more time on your page, trust you more, and are more likely to reach out. It also positions you as the local expert who genuinely wants to help them make the right decision.

  9. Add Your Open House Dates - If you have open houses scheduled, add them directly to your listing page so buyers can see the dates and RSVP without having to message you first. This removes friction, saves you time managing back and forth, and ensures you always know exactly who is planning to attend. You can add multiple events, set an invitee limit, and even offer virtual open houses via Google Meet for out of town buyers.

  10. Attach a Lead Qualification Form - Not every visitor who lands on your listing page is a serious buyer. A Lead Qualification Form lets you filter out casual browsers and make sure you are only spending time on the most qualified prospects. Before someone can book a showing or access certain content on your listing page, they answer a few quick questions. Based on their answers, you decide who gets through and who does not.

For example, you could ask about their budget, their timeline, or whether they are already pre-approved for a mortgage. If their answers meet your criteria, they proceed. If not, they see a polite message instead. Either way, you capture their contact details, giving you a direct line to follow up with everyone who showed interest, qualified or not.

Go to your listing page editor, scroll to the Lead Qualification Form section, and tap + Attach Form. From here you can select an existing form or tap + Create Form to build a new one from scratch. To know the steps, read: How to Create Lead Forms in POP.STORE

  11. Add a Google Maps Widget - Give buyers a clear picture of exactly where the property is located by adding a Google Maps widget to your listing page. This lets visitors see the surrounding area, nearby amenities, commute routes, and the neighborhood at a glance, all without leaving your page.

To add it, scroll to the bottom of your listing page editor and tap + Add Widget Here, then select Google Maps. Enter the property address and the map will appear on your listing page instantly.

  12. Preview Your Page Before Publishing - Before you hit publish, take a moment to make sure your listing page looks exactly the way you want it to. From Page Settings at the top, you can choose from different layout options - One Column, Two Column Left Focus, Two Column Right Focus, or Two Column Equal. Select one, scroll through the page, and see how everything sits together.

Since most buyers browse on their phones, always tap Mobile at the top to check how your page looks on a smaller screen before publishing. Once you are happy with how it looks on both desktop and mobile, tap Publish and your listing page will go live instantly.
