Set Up Your CommentChat

CommentChat is your personal assistant for handling Instagram comments and DMs, making interactions smoother while helping you drive sales. With automated replies, keyword triggers, and seamless DM flows, it ensures you never miss a customer inquiry. Ready to set it up? Let’s dive in!

Step 1: Configure CommentChat

Before creating a CommentChat flow, you must configure it. This is a one-time setup.

Open the CommentChat Configuration

• 1. Navigate to your Control Panel.
  2. Select the CommentChat tab.
  3. Select +Create CommentChat to begin.

Configure Your Instagram Account

Meta requires certain settings to be enabled on Instagram before automation can work. You’ll need to configure your Instagram as a Business or Creator account and adjust your messaging settings.

Follow These Steps:

• 1. Select Get Started.
  2. Open Instagram on your mobile phone (Meta doesn’t allow this setup on desktop).
  3. Go to Settings & Privacy.
  4. Scroll down to Account Type and Tools.
  5. If your account is personal, switch to a Professional Account.
  6. Next, enable messaging permissions:
     • Navigate to Messages and Story Replies.
     • Tap Message Controls.
     • Scroll down to Connected Tools and enable Allow Access to Messages.

• Once done, check the box confirming the setup and click Continue to Step 2.

Connect Your Facebook and Instagram Accounts

Since Instagram automation is powered by Facebook, you must link both accounts.

• 1. Click the provided link to open Facebook Page Manager.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions or refer to the video guide to complete the connection.
  3. Once done, check the box confirming your accounts are linked.
  4. Select Click to Setup CommentChat Comment Automation.

Authorize Connection with CommentChat

• 1. Select your Facebook account and click Continue as [Your Name].
  2. Select Click to Connect Accounts with CommentChat.
  3. Review the access permissions for CommentSold (pop.store’s parent company).
  4. Select Finish Setup.

 Congratulations! CommentChat is now configured!

Step 2: Create a CommentChat Flow

Now that CommentChat is ready, let’s set up your first automated flow.

Navigate to CommentChat

• 1. Go to Control Panel > CommentChat.
  2. Select +Create CommentChat.

Set Up Your CommentChat Flow

1. Enter a CommentChat Name.
2. Choose the DM Link Destination (your store product, external link, or your video.).
3. Select your Instagram account.
4. Choose whether the CommentChat applies to a next post or an existing post.
5. After that, decide how you want to respond. Toggle ON either or both:
   • Automatic Comment Response: to reply directly under their comment.
   • DM Response: to send an automatic message to their inbox. 

Configure Trigger Keywords

• • Set Trigger Keywords: Add up to three words that users will comment to activate automation
  • Separate each keyword with a comma.

Set Up Automatic Comment Responses

• • You can select a pre-made response group or create new responses.
  • Add multiple responses like “Here you go!”, “Thank you!”, or “Sent you a link.”
  • Check Add these responses to library, select Create a new response group from the drop down, and select Save to store these responses for future use.

Set Up Direct Messages (DMs)

• • Enter the private DM message that will be sent.
  • Add a button text (e.g., "Click to Buy").
  • Upload a thumbnail.
  • Toggle Follow-up DM if you want an additional message to be sent after a set time.
  • Choose the delay in hours and add another button/thumbnail if needed.

Publish Your CommentChat Flow

• • Click Publish to activate your CommentChat.

Success! Your CommentChat is live! Check your Instagram post to see it in action.

Manage Your CommentChat

Once your CommentChat is live, you might want to make adjustments. Here’s how to manage it:

• Go to Control Panel > CommentChat.
• Find the CommentChat you want to modify.
• Click the three-dot menu for options:
  • • Edit: Modify settings and update responses.
    • Unpublish: Temporarily disable the automation (you can republish it anytime).
    • Delete: Remove the CommentChat permanently.
