A video series is a powerful way to keep your audience engaged while presenting content in an organized and structured manner. Whether you're sharing a multi-part tutorial, behind-the-scenes content, or exclusive paid content, a series helps your followers stay connected and invested in your brand. With Pop.Store, you can create and manage a series effortlessly, offering a seamless viewing experience.
If you're new to uploading videos, check out our guide on Add Videos to Pop.Store to get started.
Benefits of a Video Series
- Keeps your audience engaged: Viewers are more likely to return when they know more content is coming.
- Creates structured storytelling: Organize content logically, making it easy for viewers to follow.
- Showcases expertise: Whether it’s a course, a behind-the-scenes look, or a tutorial, a series adds credibility to your brand.
- Builds anticipation: Releasing a series in parts keeps your followers looking forward to the next installment.
How a Series Can Generate Revenue
A Video Series isn't just for organizing content—it’s also a monetization tool. Here’s how:
- Offer Exclusive Content: Lock premium videos behind subscription levels. For example, if you have a 10-part yoga series, you can keep the first two videos free and restrict the rest to paying subscribers.
- Encourage Long-Term Subscriptions: Fans are more likely to subscribe when they see valuable content available in an exclusive series.
- Monetizing Expertise – If you’re an educator, coach, or artist, your series can be a paid course or behind-the-scenes experience.
To learn more about setting up subscriptions, check out our guide on Set up Subscriptions for Your Customers.
Pro Tip: If you’re just starting, create a short free series to build engagement, then introduce paid content.
Creating a Video Series
Follow these steps to create a Video Series:
Step 1: Access the Series Creation Panel
Your My Life tab is where all your video content lives. You can even rename it to something that fits your vibe—like "Exclusive Drops," "My Shows," or "Tutorials." To learn how to do that, read Add Videos to Pop.Store.
- Scroll down to the My Life section on your Pop.Store.
- Select Create Series to open the series creation panel.
Step 2: Name and Customize Your Series
- Series Name: Give your series a title that tells viewers what it’s all about.
- Show Series Labels: Toggle this on if you want your episodes to display labels like “episode 1,” or “ep.1,” etc. Choose from multiple styles in the dropdown.
- Series Has Chapters: If your series is structured into different sections—like a course or collection—toggle this on.
For example, if you're creating a fitness series, you might want to break it into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced chapters. When viewers play an episode from a chapter, they'll automatically continue to the next episode—and then move into the next chapter, giving your content a seamless binge-watching flow.
- Video Sort Order: Decide how viewers will see your content—Latest First, Oldest First, or Custom Sort.
- Add Marketing Banner (Optional): Want to give your series extra visibility? Toggle Add Marketing Banner ON to feature a bold visual banner in your My Life tab.
Upload your banner for desktop, and if you want it to look even better on mobile, check Use different banner for Mobile and upload a second one.
This banner acts like a spotlight for your series—grabbing attention and helping your audience instantly know what it's about while they’re scrolling your store.
Pro Tip: Choose a name that’s clear and enticing—something that makes viewers want to watch!
Step 3: Add Videos
Now, it’s time to add video clips to your series. You have two options:
- Select from existing clips: Browse your previously uploaded videos and pick the ones you want.
- Upload new clips: If you have a new video, upload it by following the same steps as in Add Videos to Pop.Store.
- Select from Existing Clips:
- Tap Select Video Clips.
- Use the search bar to find specific videos quickly.
- Tap on the videos you want to include.
- Once selected, select Done.
- Upload New Clips:
- Tap Upload Video Clip and follow the standard upload process, as mentioned in the Add Videos to My Life article.
- Once uploaded, select the new clip from your video list.
Step 4: Arrange Your Series
Once you’ve added your clips, it’s time to line them up in the perfect order.
- If you selected Custom Sort, just hold and drag the video tiles to reorder them manually.
- If you chose Latest First or Oldest First, your videos will be auto-arranged based on upload date. The latest sort order isn’t supported when Show Episode Labels is enabled.
- Select the three-dot icon on any video to mark it as the start of a new chapter, remove it from the series, or delete it entirely.
This ensures your audience watches your content in the right flow.
Step 5: Finalize and Publish
- Select Create Series to publish it.
- Your series will now appear in My Life for your audience.
Monetize Your Series
Monetizing your video series is a great way to turn your content into a steady revenue stream while providing exclusive value to your audience. To monetize your series, you first need to set up subscriptions. If you haven't done so yet, check out Set Up Subscriptions for Your Customers to get started.
Restrict Access to Individual Clips in a Series
Let’s say you have a series with seven clips, and you want the first two to be free, while the rest are subscriber-only. You can restrict access to any clip in your series—either while you're creating the series or after it's been published.
While creating the series, hover over the video you want to restrict and select the three-dot icon (⋮). Choose Edit and toggle Restrict Access.
Or, you can apply restrictions later from the Control Panel:
- Go to Your Control Panel: From your Bio section, select Control Panel and navigate to My Life.
- Find the Clip: In the Posted Clips tab, hover over the clip you want to restrict.
- Edit the Clip: Select the three-dot menu (⋮) and select Edit.
- Enable Restrict Access: Scroll down in the edit window and toggle Restrict Access ON.
- Set a Preview Duration: Choose how many seconds of the video should be visible before prompting viewers to subscribe.
- Mute Audio: Toggle Mute Audio ON if you want the audio and video to be muted after the set preview time.
- Select Subscription Level: Pick the access tier for this clip. For instance, you can allow Subscriber, Fan, or VIP access. You can customize the name of your subscription tiers based on your audience and content strategy.
- Finalize Changes: Select Next, then Publish to save your restrictions.
Note: Your subscription tiers will only appear if you've already set up subscriptions. To enable this feature, check out Set up Subscriptions for Your Customers.
